Everyone of us deserves to have a beautiful and healthy skin. There are of course many skin care products available for the same, but not everyone can afford these, and there are also allegations that a number of skincare products contain chemicals that are harmful for health. It is the need of the hour to promote organic skincare products and to make these products affordable to people across all walks of life, says Dr Gauri Walke Bobhate, a homeopathic doctor and cosmologist, who will be conducting a workshop that will teach participants to make their own organic skincare products. The workshop is titled Organic Skincare Masterclass.

“It is a basic level cosmetic cosmetic workshop for beginners,” clarifies Dr Bobhate. “What makes the workshop different is that we give chemical formulations of the products to participants rather than ingredients. That way, they can use alternative ingredients in case the proper ones are not available,” she adds.

“I lived in Dubai for a decade before moving to India last year. When I came here, I noticed that there are many chemical-laden products in the markets, and was convinced for the need to create organic products which can be created with simple ingredients and are result driven,” states the homeopathic doctor while elaborating on how the idea for this workshop originated. “The goal behind having such a workshop is to empower women so that they could use the skills they learn here to build a side-business and generate earnings for themselves,” she states, explaining why she chose to offer workshops on organic skincare products instead of building a business from the same herself. Others can use the skills learnt here to start their own business, says Dr Bobhate. “I am not afraid of the competition because I know  what I am doing” she quips. This is her fourth workshop in Goa.

Dr Bobhate has studied cosmetics and skincare for the past five years in Dubai. Apart from the upcoming workshop intended for beginners, she also offers advanced workshops for those who want to enhance their knowledge or build a business in this field. “Organic skincare in India is booming, and people are shifting in large numbers from chemical products to organic ones as they become aware of the risks posed by compounds such as parabens used in cosmetics. If you choose to make your own organic products, the self-life will be less, but the product will be effective,” informs Dr Bobhate stressing why organic skincare products matter. She further asserts that since these products are made from organic ingredients, they do not have harmful effects. Even so, it is best to practice its making and test the product properly before getting it out into the market, says Dr Bobhate
