The Despicable Me 3

Although they didn't impress much in their very own film, fans can't wait to see the cute little yellow beings return to the screen yet again for the third installment of Despicable Me. The upcoming film which is set to release on June 30 will focus on the rivalry between Gru and his twin brother Dru. Also, a new villain by the name of Balthazar Bratt is all set to make his debut in the film.

Pirates of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Captain Jack Sparrow is back. The fifth film in this franchise will see Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom reprise their roles in the film but this around the story will focus on Henry Turner and the main villain Captain Salazar. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is expected to release on May 26, 2017.

xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage

This one has Indian movie buffs especially excited as Indian actress Deepika Padukone will be making her Hollywood debut. What's more, while the movie is set to be released on January 20, India will see an early release with the film hitting theatres on January 14. The third film will follow the long presumed dead Xander as he comes out of his self-imposed exile and sets out to recover a seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box before somehow getting entangled in a deadly conspiracy involving the government. Also starring in the film are Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, Samuel L. Jackson, Ruby Rose, and Toni Collette.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Groot returns! Makers of the film have been teasing fans with images and clippings of the loved talking tree Groot who died and was reborn as a baby plant for awhile and fans can't wait to see Groot's role in the film. Of course Star Lord, Gamora, Drax and Rocket also return and will be joined by Ego the Living Planet, who is also Star lord's dad played by Kurt Russell. Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will release on May 5, 2017.

Fifty Shades Darker

Although most know that the story is pretty sad really, for some reason, people can't help but await to see just how much of a thrashy film it turns out to be. The sequel which hits screens in February will see Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return to play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the protagonists of this series. Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be directing the upcoming film, having handed over the reins to James Foley.

Fast & Furious 8

You can never have enough of Vin Diesel. After a tearful farewell to Paul Walker in the last film punctuated with Charlie Puth's beautiful ballad See you Again, the eight film in this franchise will also star Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren. The film is scheduled to be released on April 14, 2017.

Annabelle 2

When The Conjuring came out, it definitely gave viewers some sleepless nights. However there were soon calls for a spinoff movie featuring the creepy doll following which Annabelle came about. And the sequel of this film seems scary enough. Centered on a doll maker and his wife who are dealing with the death of their daughter, things get weird when they then decided to invite a nun and several girls from an orphanage to stay with them. The nun could be interesting for those who have already seen The Conjuring 2. Annabelle 2 is due out in theaters on May 19, 2017.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Sophie Cookson will reprise their roles as Eggsy, Merlin, and Roxy in the coming sequel, which follows the trio as they head to the United States to join forces with their stateside counterpart, Statesman. The move comes after the Kingsman headquarters are destroyed by Poppy, an evil American mastermind played by Julianne Moore. The sequel will also feature Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges. Interestingly even singer Elton John is going to be making an appearance. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set for release on June 16, 2017.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

After years of watching Alice fight zombies, the Resident Evil franchise is finally coming to an end ( at least for now) with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Get ready to watch Milla Jovovich kill a whole lot of zombies and monsters when Resident Evil: The Final Chapter drops on January 27, 2017.

Wolverine 3

This film will mark Hugh Jackman's last appearance before he hangs up his claws as Wolverine ever since he began in 2000 in X-Men. Not only are we seeing Jackman's Logan in the future as an older, grizzled version of the character, but Patrick Stewart is also coming back as Professor X. Wolverine 3 is set for a release on March 3, 2017.
