Salman Khan's Sultan which released on July 6 is quickly breaking records. The film became the biggest Eid opener, minting about Rs 38-40 crore surprassing his last Eid release - Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 27.25 crore. It also became the biggest opener of 2016 beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan that collected Rs 19.20 crore. With advance bookings starting three days prior to the release, the film also broke the record of highest collection in advance booking collecting more that Rs 18 crore. It also beat the likes of Chak De! India and Mary Kom to become the highest opening day collecter for a sports based film.
