Prof Ranjan Dey of the department of Chemistry, BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus has been elected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). The designation FRSC is given to a small group of elected Fellows of the Society who have made outstanding contributions to chemistry and other interface disciplines such as biological chemistry.
He was recently invited as an Academic Visitor to the department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, UK, and spent the summer of 2018 working under the mentorship of Prof David Wales, a world renowned authority in the field of Potential energy landscapes, as a part of the University Immersion program of BITS Pilani University. Professor Dey has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience and has taught a number of discipline, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary courses at BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus. His field of research interest is thermodynamic and transport properties of liquid mixtures and New and Renewable energies. He is also designing a project, with his national and international collaborators, related to risk management, which will be immensely useful to the cashew exporters of Goa.
