If you are one of the many who loves to listen to the soulful sound of the fados or believe that you could be Goa's next budding Fadista, here's your chance. The Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) in collaboration with Cidade de Goa and Institute Menezes Braganza will host the 4th edition of Fado Contest 2016 on November 27 at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.

In order to match the culturally rich standards of the past, preparation sessions and interactive workshops will be conducted on October 14 at CLP-Camões, Panaji, 5pm and on October 25, 5 pm at Clube Harmonia, Margao. Participants will be guided by Prof. Delfim Correia da Silva, Sonia Shirsat, Franz Schubert, Nadia Rebelo and other renowned Goan singers and musicians. The workshops are being held in an effort to prepare the potential participants in the Fado Contest 2016, equipping them with the necessary information on the Fado and its history, genres, characteristics, lyrics, famous fadistas, performance and musical instruments.
