Lady Gaga has just shared the song list of her upcoming album Joanne. The album title however has not been randomely chosen. The singer decided to name the album Joanne after her father's sister Joanne who passed away at the age of 19. Joanne is also Gaga's middle name. "[My father] was younger than her and she was very sick with lupus. The death of her in his family and in his life, it really left a scar and a wound that never healed. The experiences of our families, and our challenges and our toughness make us who we are. It's all the toughness of the pain that happened as a result of losing her that made us all strong, and made us all who we are," she said. The album also features a track titled Joanne. Gaga and her father, Joe Germanotta, also own a restaurant in New York named after Joanne . Here's a look at the stories behind some other album titles:

The Life of Pablo

People were left intrigued after Kanye revealed the title of his eight studio album which came out in February 2016. Fans began wondering which Pablo he could be referring to “ Pablo Picasso, Pablo Neruda, Pablo Escobar. However people soon reasoned out that it could have something to do with artist Pablo Picasson after all especially as he referenced Pablo Picasso in his 2015 Oxford University lecture: "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater." What made fans strengthen this theory was when the rapper tweeted an article about him as “the greatest artist of the 21st century” and wrote, 'Now they know'. Fans noted that a Google search for “greatest artist of the 20th century,” throws up the name Pablo Picasso first.

Royalty

Chris Brown is one of those celebrities who loves posting pictures of his daughter Royalty online. The singer went a step further in showing his love when he decided to dedicate his seventh album to his daughter Royalty. He announced the news by simply tweeting: “My new album will be named 'Royalty '. “The album is called "Royalty" because it represents where I’m at right now in my life, and my daughter is the biggest part of my life,” he said. He later revealed the album cover, portraying Chris with Royalty in her arms in a black and white picture.

Paula

After breaking up with his long term sweetheart Paula Patton after nine years of marriage, Robin Thicke wasted no efforts to win her back and even came up with an album titled Paula which has song titles like “Get Her Back” and “Love Can Grow Back,”. Thicke debuted at the Billboard Music Awards in 2014 and told the audience, "All right, y'all, help me get her back." Although the album didn't do well at all, the singer's only regreat was that he didn't give it away for free. “As an artist I have no regrets because as a writer you write what you feel, you have to express yourself and give it away,” Robin said. “But, as an entertainer, I felt like I should have just given it away for free instead of promote it or make it part of my entertainer’s process. I feel like it was so pure and personal that if I just would have given it away then it would have kept the purity of the feeling.”

8701

The story behind this seemingly random arrangement of numbers album by Usher is quite interesting. The album was his third studio album and took inspiration from multiple artists, including Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Michael Jackson. The title actually marked the length of Usher’s singing career at that time: he started singing at his church in 1987, and ‘01 was the current year. The album was also released on August 7, 2001.

4

4 has always been a special number of Queen B and she decided to title what happened to also be her fourth album, after this lucky number too. “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me,” she explained. “It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.” Apart from this her hubby Jay Z is also born on the 4th.

Relevance of BRICS

The BRICS were an analytical concept, a futuristic projection, an investment strategy well before they became a group of states. Since the first formal summit in June 2009 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, there have always been voices that have expressed deep scepticism about the rationale, role and prospects of the BRICS grouping. However, the current downturn in the domestic situation of some BRICS member countries have strengthened the BRICS sceptics, many of whom now regard the…
