The annual general body meeting of The Green Club was hosted by Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa, Goa recently. Founded in May 2014 by Suman Kurade with the purpose of promoting eco-friendly initiatives and encouraging organic farming, this club has grown from 14 members to 80 members since its inception. The Green Club organises various activities throughout the year to create awareness on the subject, including lectures, workshops, seminars and demonstrations educating its members on how to grow fruits and vegetables organically.
Mr. Anmol Ahluwalia, general manager, Taj, North Goa was invited as the chief guest for the event. As a token of appreciation for his support towards the club, the members of the club presented Ahluwalia with an honourary club membership. The event concluded with a presentation on The Secret Groves of Goa by Dr Derek Monterio, guest relations manager, Taj Holiday Village and also a member of The Green Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Nifa Fernandes, president, The Green Club, said, “The Green Club is an effort to sensitise its members to the importance of organic farming for self-sustainability. The encouragement received from Anmol Ahluwalia and his team at Taj Holiday Village has given us an impetus to create a green and healthy Goa.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Anmol Ahluwalia, general manager, Taj, North Goa said, “At Taj, North Goa, we are constantly working towards a healthier tomorrow with various initiatives within the resort and neighbouring communities. This collaboration with The Green Club is another step to strengthen our commitment towards a sustainable ecosystem.”
