Trek to Siddha Parvat

Before the real beater of a Goa summer sets in, try and get a trekking activity under your belt. Goa’s forested regions provide for some excellent trekking opportunities, one’s that can help you re-kindle you passion for the greenery and the unbridled bounty of the Western Ghats which protectively rings Goa in the northern, eastern and southern ends.

Take for example, a trek to Siddha Parvat, located in Sanguem, located in south eastern Goa. The trek takes you atop the hill which is at a height of 1,425 feet making it one of the tallest hills in the state. The view from Siddha Parvat, especially just after the monsoons, is stunning, but it isn’t all that bad at this time of the year too.

This trek however would require you to be in some form of shipshape. You don’t need muscles on your biceps, but a trek to Siddha Parvat does require a fair share of grit.

The trek starts from Bhatti village in Sanguem and takes around two hours, before you reach the summit and get a glimpse of the Siddha temple. Boy is that a sight to be seen at the end of the long haul!

Make sure you pack along water, dry lunch, medicines for cuts and scrapes, because there’s no place you can buy these essentials on the way up the hill.
