Hollywood actor Leonardo di Caprio has finally won an Academy Award for his role as a rugged, death-defying trapper in the Western film The Revenant directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

If you are a Leonardo fan, you can celebrate his win by watching the grand film at a cinema hall tonight.

The film goes back to a frosty season in 1823 on the hard-as-nails American Frontier, when animal trapping for furs was akin to gold mining for young adventurers and explorers. Around then Hugh Glass, played by Leonardo plays a guide to a pack of trappers, who are ambushed by native Indians. While retreating, Leonardo is attacked by a beast of a grizzly bear and is near-mortally wounded.

While for some time the group of trappers agree to heave Glass around on a makeshift stretcher, his handicap forces the trappers to leave him in the care of two members of the team and Glass’s half-breed son. The plot takes grip after one of the caretakers John Fitzgerald kills Glass’s son and forces the other to leave the guide for dead.

What follows is Glass’s elaborate ordeal as he makes his way back for revenge for his son’s death conquering physical failings and nature itself. The film is visually stunning, short of dialogue and bare and gritty in the very sense of the word. And Glass’s eminent struggle against death is epic.
