A brainchild of Sheerji Bhaskaran, the man behind India’s first wax museum at Ooty, Goa now has its very own Madame Tussads right here in the state. The museum has over 30 life-size, statues of famous personalities of Indian culture, heritage and religion including those of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Osho, Radha-Krishna, Shankaracharya and Ramkrishna Paramahansa. One of the main attractions is the sculpting of the 'last supper' which is 22 feet in length and weights 500 kilos. Each figurine is carefully sculpted of paraffin wax, colour is added to the wax when in molten state and cosmetic colours are applied in the final stages. The hair used is natural, although the eyes and teeth are artificial. Clothes are tailormade to match the fabric and style.There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase candles of various designs, shapes and smells. The entry cost is 30 Rupees and 10 for cameras.

Goa is largely known for its long beaches and vibrant night life. But for those in search of a quiet and peaceful hangout spot, you must not miss out the Cansaulim Monte in your itinerary. Cansaulim Monte situates itself in a small village by the same name, Cansaulim, in South Goa. Cool breeze, the setting sun, and the magnificent view makes this hillock a perfect spot for evening hangouts. From the Monte, one can see almost every aspect of Goan life. Right from the long stretch of golden sands and ocean waters, the Konkan railway, to the vast green paddy fields with famers and bullocks at work in unison, this is sight you wouldn't want to miss!
Atop this hillock, standing majestically is the famous Three Kings Church which almost always steals the show. The Church not only has a long rich history, but it is deemed as one the top haunted places in Goa. Legends claim that unrest spirits of 3 kings haunt the church, and locals claim having witnessed supernatural incidents. Although it is advised not to go there once it is dark, if you are a daredevil, you could try a trip there at night (or many be not!). The church is exuberant the most on 6th January, the day of the Feast of Epiphany. This festival is dedicated to the Three Kings of Magi from the Bible. On this day 3 local kids take the roles of the 3 Wise men and a procession is carried out.
This monte makes a perfect picnic spot as well. The vast open area around the church provides ample of space for games. Also the trees around provide shade for the much needed siestas. And if that was not enough to convince you, then the journey to the monte is one of sun and shade with trees on either side from the main Mormugao city.
