It is a very serious offence! People who do this should be heavilyfined. To protect the pets, the government should come up with a welfare whichwould help to overcome this problem. Also, I think birds should not be kept aspets. Nature has gifted them with the ability to fly and we have no right tocage their gift.

Domestic animal abuse is an act that we humans should be ashamed of. Weshould give the same amount of affection to the creatures living around us.Punishing, killing, beating an animal that can't even express its feeling is atotal lack of emotional sense and compassion. It is very disturbing to see the way some people handle their pets. Theyare treated very badly. Importance should be given to things like propermedication for dogs. People have the tendency to serve the left-over food fortheir pets which is not appropriate. The food that is given to them should besuitable for them.

I was withthe SPCA Pune and my three years there are a volunteer and later as sheltermanager was unforgettable. I have come across number of people who claim to be animal lovers yet when they visit an animal shelter they will stand and stare aghastat the sight of a maggot infected animal, or a sick dog with mange etc

Pets are supposed to be treated withcare and affection and if an individual is unable to give their pet the same,then they don’t deserve one. It’s as simple as that. I’m not sure ‘love for animals’ is somethingthat you can preach about, but ‘respect’ is. animals really are could helpchildren become more sensitive to these issues. I believe that something likethis would help against cruelty towards animals.
