Cong cannot project fresh face for LS seat having sitting MP

South Goa Congress workers' demand to immediately declare a party candidate for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat may put the party leadership in a tight spot. For, South Goa is being represented by party senior leader, four-time MP Francisbab Sardinha, who is not averse to seeking re-election to play his fifth Lok Sabha innings. On the other hand, a section of the party is rooting for a new face to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Sources in private say the party cannot afford to project a fresh face for South Goa when it has a sitting MP, whose term will end only in early 2024. Any takers?
