CAN ANYONE explain the fate of the proposed Congress-Goa Forward alliance to fight the 2022 polls? Is the alliance proposal from the Goa Forward still under the consideration of the principal opposition party? Or, is the proposal down and out with certain leaders of the regional party singing Didi tunes? Pose this question to Congress & Goa Forward leaders and neither of them would like to publicly say the alliance talks are on or has been called off. The two parties seem treading a cautious path, least they are portrayed as villains for not forging an alliance against the BJP. Any questions?

WILL IT be GPCC Chief Girishbab Chodankar or former Margao Municipal vice-chairperson Ethel Lobo to take on Goa Forward Chief Vijaibab Sardesai in the battle for Fatorda? Well, it was all along perceived that Girishbab will be the Congress candidate against arch rival Vijaibab in the event there’s no Cong-Goa Forward alliance. Sources, however, say Ethelbai has emerged as a strong contender for the party ticket. Ethelbai’s candidature has found favour with the party leadership, including South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha. Luizinho elevation a booster for TMC in Goa
CONGRESS-TURNED-TRINAMOOL Congress leader Luizinhbab Faleiro’s appointment as the TMC national vice-president has come at a time when a host of local leaders are bracing up to join the Mamata Didi-led party. The Congress veteran who left the Congress after 40 long years of association, has been rewarded with the position, apparently to bestow him the respect before many more join the party. Luizinhbab seemed pleased with Mamata Didi’s gesture, thanking her for giving Goans a voice at the national stage, saying it has reaffirmed her affection, love and concern for Goa.
New face from Cong in Nuvem this election?
CONGRESS YOUNG turks from Nuvem seemed anxiously waiting to know from party leadership if a young and new face would be fielded by the party in the 2022 polls. In fact, this question has been doing the rounds in Nuvem Congress circles for some time now ever since veteran Alexiobab Sequeira returned to active politics. Young leaders, including Eversonbab Vales, who had kept the party flag flying high over the years, have been waiting to know from the leadership on the party candidature for Nuvem. Wait and watch.
Will Reginaldo have a say in ticket allotment?
IS THE Working president post for Congress leader Reginaldbab Lourenco a reward for staying put with the Congress or a responsibility to take the party forward in the run up to the 2022 polls? Or, is the working President’s position bestowed on the three-time MLA to ensure that he does not move out of the party ahead of the polls. His supporters seemed happy over the position. They, however, have a question or two for the party leadership “ will the Congress leadership keep Reginaldbab in the loop in the scheme of things at the time of ticket distribution.
