Digambar out of State amid speculation of Cabinet rejig

When speculations did the rounds over an imminent Cabinet reshuffle, Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Diggu reportedly headed out of station. In fact, Diggu’s absence was the talking point in political circles, more so when senior BJP Central emissaries descended in the State, giving rise to speculations about a Cabinet rejig. Even Diggu’s close aides have been trying to figure out where their Baba suddenly went when BJP leaders have come down to the State on Wednesday. Strong reports have been doing rounds in the lanes and by-lanes in the commercial capital that the former CM may return back to the Cabinet after 12 long years. Wait and watch.

Cabinet reshuffle: Will BJP go for community balance?

With senior BJP leaders not ruling out a Cabinet rejig post-Ganesh Chaturthi, the focus of attention is now centred on which Minister will get an axe and who would find a berth in Pramodbab Sawant Cabinet. While a host of names for a Cabinet berth are doing the rounds in political circles, the moot question remains unanswered “ who will face the axe in the ensuing reshuffle? Questions are raised whether the saffron brigade will adopt the criteria during Aleixobab Sequeira’s induction into the cabinet last year “ a Catholic would make way for a Catholic and a Hindu for a Hindu Minister? Any takers?

All eyes on Luizinho’s b’day next week and his political plans

All eyes seemed focussed on Saxtti political heavyweight, former Chief Minister Luizinhbab Faleiro. Reason: His friends and ardent supporters seemed anxiously waiting for the three-time former Chief Minister to unveil his political plans on his birthday next week. After resigning from the Rajya Sabha, Luizinhbab has since severed his ties with the Mamata Didi-led Trinamool Congress. Since then, the former Navelim MLA had not joined any other political party, nor has he officially called it a day in politics. Wait and watch.

Will Mauvin have his way in getting his nominee elected as ZP chief?

Will Panchayat Minister Mauvinbab Godinho have his way in getting his nominee elected to the post of South Goa Zilla Panchayat chairperson? Or, will the saffron brigade take the final call in zeroing in on the party candidate for the vacant post of ZP chief? Well, if BJP-backed ZP members are to be believed, the party leadership is yet to convene a meeting of the elected ZP members to take a decision on the party candidate for the ZP post, only raising questions whether the candidate for the post will be imposed from the top. Take note, the BJP enjoys clear majority in the South Goa ZP, a fact that may embolden the party leadership to zero in on the candidate of its choice. Any questions?

Yet another flip-flop on pvt medical college leaves Saxttikars puzzled

Yet another flip-flop on the controversial private medical college at the South district hospital may leave Saxttikars puzzled. For, contrary views seemed coming from the BJP government on the proposed medical college in the district hospital in the last five years. Some months ago, Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant’s Cabinet had decided to set up the private medical college at the district hospital. It was even announced that government would provide 10,000 sq mtrs of land for the project. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s recent announcement that the government will not go ahead with the private medical college at least for the moment, has only raised many an eyebrow. Any questions?
