The Industrial Policy which was expected to be out bySeptember 2012, will take a long time coming. It will now be called theinvestment policy but will take at leastsix months to be drafted

However even in a period of gloom, the state is looking atthe pharmaceutical and tourism industries to see it through, while bringing innew industries
Shekhar Sardesai, President of Goa State industriesAssociation said “The Government is working in the right direction towardsbringing new industries to the state. Goa IDC is playing its role under the newboard which is headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar,” Sardesai said.
The GCCI president Mangurish Pai Raikar differed though.“Before entering any state an industrial house does a proper survey as turningback is not so easy. But if the State government does not have proper visionand policy in place then industries will relocate in any state,” Raikar said.
