Questions over Assembly seat deal as AAP concedes LS seats to Cong

The Congress leadership must have heaved a sigh of relief after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) conceded the two Goa Lok Sabha seats for the party. Congress workers and political observers are trying to figure out since Friday, the deal, if any, between the Congress and AAP leadership sealed in Delhi. For, many a question still remains unanswered. In the event the INDIA bloc last till the 2027 Assembly election, questions are asked whether the Congress will leave the Benaulim and Velim Assembly seats for AAP. And, whether AAP has laid claim to a couple of more Assembly seats in Goa, in addition to Benaulim and Velim? Wait and watch.

Sardinha dares opponents, claims to be still fit and fine

Age may not be on his side. Sitting South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha, however, asserts that when it comes to fitness, he is fit and fine compared to any of the younger lot in the Congress party. To prove a point or two, do not be surprised if the four-time MP throws a challenge for hand wrestling. Indeed, Sardinhbab says that fitness has never been an issue for him in his career spanning over four decades. Indeed, a message loud and clear for opponents demanding a strong candidate, capable of covering the South Goa constituency.

Who from Cong will benefit out of Vijai’s stance against Sardinha?

Who amongst the Congress ticket aspirants will benefit out of Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai’s statement that the party will not support sitting South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha in the coming election. Well, this question has become a subject of debate in the Congress camp. Eyebrows have also been raised in Saxtti’s political circles over the timing of Vijaibab’s statement, when Sardinhbab has staked his claim for the ticket and the Congress has set in motion the process to shortlist candidates. Will Vijaibab’s statement have any bearing on the Congress High Command? Wait and watch.

Reginaldo treading cautious path on whom to support in LS polls

Has Curtorim MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco anything to say on GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar’s appeal to the Independent MLA to support the Congress in the coming Lok Sabha polls. Well, Reginaldbab seemed keeping his cards close to his chest. He must have attended Prime Minister Narendrabai Modi’s Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa rally at Margao earlier this month, but seemed treading a cautious path. He is yet to unveil his stand on how he would go about in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. When media persons sought to find out his stand vis-à-vis the coming polls, Reginaldbab is believed to have just laughed away in his inimitable style. Any takers?

Sardinha, Faleiro will be cynosure of all eyes at retaining wall inaugural

Have Saxtti’s arch-political rivals, South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Luizinhbab Faleiro, who dominated the political scene for over two decades, finally decided to let bygones be bygones. There’s been no love lost between these two Saxtti heavyweights in the 80’s and 90’s with Sardinhbab even leading a revolt to dislodge Luizinhbab’s government. Come Sunday and the South Goa MP will descend in Navelim for the inauguration of the retaining wall of Dr Francisco Luis Gomes’ memorial – Luizinhbab’s dream project. The Rs 30-odd lakh wall project has been funded by Sardinhbab under his MPLAD scheme at Luizinhbab’s request. Wait and watch.
