It was a week when Congress bigwigs descended on Velim to extend birthday greetings to District Congress Chief Joebab Dias. The Girish-Diggu duo, MP Francisbab Sardinha, working president Aleixobab Sequeira and others all descended on Sirlim to join the celebrations. Joebab has set his eyes on Velim. The Opposition leader and the GPCC Chief were holed up at Joebab’s residence till midnight. Next-door neighbour and Saxtti’s lone Minister Filipe Neribab is believed to have wished Joebab over the phone. Outgoing members of the District Congress Committee were present in strength to wish the district president a very happy birthday.
