Buoyed by the electoral success in the Zilla Panchayat polls, Aam Aadmi Party leader Capt Wenzy Viegas seems to be bracing up to storm Benaulim, the bastion of Varca strongman Bab Churchill. While AAP young candidate Hanzelbab Fernandes won the Benaulim ZP seat, many say it was Capt Wenzy and his team that worked behind the scenes to tie up loose ends to upset all pre-poll calculations. Capt Wenzy, who has set his eyes on Benaulim in 2022, is only expected to take AAP’s campaign in Benaulim to its logical conclusion in 2022. Have the NCP and Congress any plans to checkmate AAP’s rise in the minority heartland. Only time will tell.
