Keeping the UGDP flag flying high

This Cuncolim-based doctor has decided to keep the flag of the United Goans Democratic Party flying high. In hibernation for a long time now, the regional outfit is making its voice heard on burning issues plaguing the state. With nothing much being heard from the co-brothers-in-law duo of Anacletbab and Radharaobab, UGDP President Dr Jorsonbab Fernandes seems to have decided to keep the party afloat. For the moment, Dr Jorsonbab has restricted his campaign to burning issues. Wait and watch whether the UGDP president has any plans to revive the regional outfit ahead of 2022 polls.

Facing the brunt of rail protesters

Congress veteran and Navelim MLA Luizinhbab Faleiro became the latest MLA to face the brunt of anti-coal protesters. Luizinhbab had documentary evidence to prove that he had taken up the track-doubling issue three years ago both within the Assembly and outside. There were, however, hardly any takers for the Navelim MLA’s claims at the Davorlim railway crossing early this week.
