When Vijaibab Sardesai’s Fatorda Forward swept the Margao Municipal Council polls five years ago, the Fatorda MLA tried the Fatorda experiment beyond the boundaries of the constituency, finally giving birth to the Goa Forward Party. That the Goa Forward won three out of the four seats the party contested in 2017 is now history. Much water, however, has flown down the river Sal in the last four years and Vijaibab is facing an acid test in his fiefdom Fatorda in the ensuing civic polls. The municipal poll result may shed light on what lies in store for the Goa Forward supremo in 2022.
