Neri’s campaign speech left many surprised

Salcete lone Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues spoke at length at the election meeting of BJP-backed candidate Milagrina Gomes during the weekend. He even reminded the candidate, who is a nurse by profession, that nursing is a noble profession. What surprised many was that Filipe Neri did not even once refer to Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai or the panel floated by him. It was left to Damu Naik to do the talking against his arch-rival.

Ask Congress veteran Luizinhbab Faleiro to comment on Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat’s decision to enter into an alliance with Goa Forward for the Margao municipal polls, and apt comes the to direct the query to leaders heading the party. He reminded all and sundry that he had stayed out of the party’s decision making apparatus since he had stepped down from GPCC post in 2017, except when the party leaders drafted him on a mission for party work.
