Unbeaten St. Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim will face Candolim SC at the Vagator Ground, while Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim takes on Chapora Y.C. at the Duler Stadium in the First Division Playoffs.
These opening playoff fixtures are expected to provide early clues as to who will emerge as the First Division Champions of 2025.
St. Anthony’s SC, Siolim enters the playoffs with a flawless 100% win record. Their potent forward line, led by Chanfrakant Arun and Sidhant Shirodkar, combined with a disciplined defence anchored by Vipul Pednekar, Kashiram Kishor, and Manthan Jivaji, makes them formidable opponents. On current form, Siolim is the favorite to advance. However, Candolim SC could spring a surprise if their quick-footed attackers, Nikhil Naik and Solanke, find their rhythm and strike early.
In the other semi-final, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, expertly drilled by Coach Donald, has exceeded expectations this season. The dynamic trio of Sam, Melson, and Eliton, supported by pinpoint crosses from Dickson Rogtao on the left flank, will look to challenge the sturdy Chapora defence. Chapora Y.C. will rely on the experience of Alfred Noronha and captain Kashinath Shirodkar at the back, with Ozen Silva standing strong between the posts.
