Purjut Zha, a visually impaired athlete, began his sporting journey in Goa with blind cricket. Overcoming initial challenges, Zha transitioned to other athletic pursuits and excelled in running competitions held in Bambolim, securing silver medals. Encouraged by his achievements, Zha set his sights on para-athletics competitions at the national level in Bangalore, where he clinched two silver medals and one bronze.
Now back in Goa, Zha harbors ambitions of representing India in the para-olympics, aiming to demonstrate his talents on the world stage. Expressing gratitude for the support received, Zha thanked individuals and organisations like the Star Group and coach Nagavikar for their financial assistance.
Zha's remarkable achievements underscore his determination and resilience in the face of financial constraints. He stressed the importance of ongoing training and support as he pursues his dream of competing internationally.
Despite his successes, Zha revealed a lack of government support from the Goa sports department. However, he remains optimistic and plans to approach the sports minister for assistance in realising his athletic aspirations.
