Chinchinim Veterans emerged champions of the 1st All Goa 50+ inter-village futsal tournament, organised by Chandor Guirdolim Veterans by defeating Merces Veterans 4-0 in the final at Simpliz Turf, Chandor.
Former India midfielder Mario Soares scored a hat-trick to power his team. Former India stopper back Mahesh Loltlikar was impressive at the back and was the other scorer for the winners. Earlier in the semifinals, Chinchinim beat Chandor Guirdolim Veterans 1-0 and Merces Veterans defeated Vasco Veterans 2-1.
The winners were awarded a trophy and prize money of Rs 25,000 while the runners-up won Rs 20,000, besides a trophy. The losing semifinalists were awarded Rs 2,000 each while the second-placed teams in each group were awarded Rs 1,000 each.
