A fine brace by Cindroy Furtado helped Dicarpale Sports Club trounce Navelim Sporting Club 4-0 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at Dramapur Ground on Sunday.
Dicarpale led 2-0 at the breather. Dicarpale did not wait for long to open the scoring when Kavin Furtado beat the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. Cindroy Furtado, who was in the thick of action, scored the insurance goal in the 29th minute.
Crossing over, Dicarpale were all over the rival territory and tormented the opposition with constant raids. Cindroy increased their tally with his brace in the 63rd minute. Benny Fernandes rounded off the tally in the 87th minute.
Abdul nets five in Rumdamol's 8-1 win
A five-goal blitz by Abdul Shighavi helped Rumdamol Sports Club trounce Uguem Rising Club 8-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at Church ground.
Rumdamol dominated the game while Rising Club were struggling and failed to get past the rival defence. Abdul Shighavi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. In the 16th minute, Abdul doubled the score before netting his hat-trick in the 44th minute. Rising Club pulled one back in the first-half injury time through Clive Gomes.
Crossing over, Rumdamol continued to enjoy total domination and in the 47th minute, scored through Ali Khan. Abdul increased the tally in the 61st minute before Akash Bhosle added another in the 67th minute. Rohan Bagban made it 7-1 and Abdul scored his fifth in the 75th minute.
CRC Chinchinim elections on Dec 19
At the end of the nomination process for the election of the new executive committee of the Clube Recreativo Cultural de Chinchinim will see a fight for two important posts of office bearers “ the president, and the general secretary on December 19 at Club House between 9 am to 11 am.
The two posts will have a two-way contest with Benny Costa and Constancio Fernandes vying for the top post while the general secretary's post will have a contest between Antonio Lopez and Neves Anthony Rebello. Valentino Baretto will be the election officer.
