Fatorda Veterans defeated Danvodem Veterans 2-1 to clinch the 1st Rehan Muzawar Cup football tournament organised by Sporting Club de Rumdamol, at Rumdamol football ground on Sunday.
Vincent Barboso of Fatorda Veterans was the hero of the final with his striking abilities and gelled well with the players and troubled the rival defence with his snap shots. Vincent put his team infront in the 14th minute. The early goal boosted the morale of the players as they mounted tremendous pressure.
Crossing over, Fatorda Veterans upped the ante and Pascoal Fernandes doubled the lead in the 35th minute. Down 0-2, Danvondem Veterans intensified their attacks. Vishant Pednekar pulled a goal back for Danvodem Veterans in the 44th minute.
Vishant Pednekar of Danvodem Veterans was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament; Best Disciplined team - Danvodem Veterans.
Rehan Muzawar, social worker from Navelim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of President of the Club Ravi Luhera; Vice President Manohar Sangaonkar and panch member of Rumdamol panchayat.
