Guardian Angel Sports Club secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Betalbatim Sporting Club in the Fernando Abranches Memorial Trophy 2025, held at the Verna Panchayat ground on Saturday.
Guardian Angel took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Jason Dias in the 5th minute and Aliton Furtado in the 22nd minute. Dias then completed his brace, scoring again in the 37th minute to extend the lead to 3-0 in the second half.
Betalbatim fought back with goals from Aniston Fernandes in the 37th minute and Jesus Ferrao in the 45th minute, but they fell short of finding an equalizer.
Jason Dias was named Star of the Match, with the award presented by United Club of Verna President Luis Vas, in the presence of Claton Pinho.
