The Goa University’s annual inter collegiate cricket men’s championship 2023-24 began, on
Thursday, at Goa University Cricket ground, Taleigao.
First match of the championship saw GVM’s GGPR College, Ponda defeat Goa College of Arts, Altinho by 99 runs.
Goa College of Arts, Altinho won the toss and elected to bowl. GVM’s GGPR College, Ponda scored 218/8 in the alotted 20 overs. Pratham V. 49(35) not out, Jagdish Somji 48 (24) were the top scorers of the innings. Nikhil A and Rohan B scalped 2 wickets each for the Arts College.
In reply, Goa College of Art were bundled out for 119 runs in 17.2 overs. Nikhil A. 20(20) and Tribhavan S. 14(10) were the main run contributors for the Altinho College.
Ravi Jaiswal scalped three wickets while Ved P picked up 2 wickets.
