RCC Panjim beat Shri Ram Vidya Mandir School of Colvale by 7 wickets to emerge champion in the U-14 boys cricket tournament for Sakura cup, at Housing Board Cricket ground, Colvale.
Score in brief: Shree Ram Vidya Mandir School, 87 in 23.5 overs (Amit Gawas 16, Manohar Desai & Rehan Parsekar 13 each. Pranjal Singh 3, Shourya Chodakar, Darsh Salgaokar & Aryan Bhonsle 2 wkts each) lost to RCC Panjim, 88-3 in 13.2 overs (Paras Naik 41, Shourya Chodankar 16*. Ranjan Lamgaonkar & Manohar Desai 1 wkt each).
Individual prizes: Best batsman “ Pranjal Singh (RCC Panjim), best bowler “ Amit Gawas (Shree Ram Vidya Mandir), best wicket keeper “ Yuvraj Dabholkar (RCC Vasco), best fielder “ Manohar Desai (Shree Ram Vidya Mandir), player of the tournament- Paras Naik (RCC Panjim), Player of the final- Shourya Chodankar (RCC Panjim).
Social Welfare Minister Subhash Faldesai was the Chief Guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Minister for Fisheries Nilkant Halarnkar and Goa Cricket President Vipul Phadke.
