Khorlim XI proved too good for Porvorim XI as they registered an emphatic 74-run win to reach the semi-finals of the inaugural Manohar Parrikar Trophy T20 cricket tournament at GCA academy ground, Porvorim on Wednesday evening. Earlier, Mandovi Parivar Canacona prevailed over SK Jogging with a hard-fought four-wicket victory to enter the last four.

Aditya Kaushik of Khorlim XI was named man-of-the-match for his superb knock of 73 runs off 50 balls. The Goa Ranji Trophy batsman dominated the proceedings after captain Saheel Dhuri had won the toss and elected to bat.  Aditya stroked five boundaries and sixes each as Khorlim XI posted a total of 171/5. 

Porvorim youngster Prathamesh Naik bowled beautifully for his two wickets for just 20 runs off his four overs. Gauresh Gawas, Udit Yadav and Ruthvik Naik took one wicket each.

In reply, Swapnil Asnodkar-led Porvorim Warriors were all out for 97 runs 18.5 overs as their batsmen suffered a collective failure. Reagan Pinto top-scored with 23 while Ruthvik remained not out on 20. Khorlim's Saheel, Amit Yadav and Maliksab Shirur took two wickets each while Rahul Keni, Heramb Parab and Rupesh Asgaonkar picked up a wicket each.

Earlier, chasing 193 for victory, Mandovi Parivar required 59 runs off the last five overs. Captain Snehal Kauthankar kept his cool as he saw wickets fall at the other end, guiding his team home with an unbeaten 42 off 28 balls consisting five hits to the fence. The talented Goa Ranji Trophy batsman was named man-of-the-match.

Replying to SK Jogging's challenging total of 192/4,  Mandovi Parivar ended up with 195/6 in 19.4 overs in the most thrilling match of the tournament so far.
