Pedda Boys Benaulim rode their luck to oust St Jude Strikers Betalbatim 4-3 in the tie-breaker to enter the finals of the 1st all-Goa UK/US Boys Under-14 Trophy soccer tournament, organised by Mix Friends Benaulim, at Xembu Moll ground, Benaulim on Friday.
Betalbatim skipper Joel D'Silva had a good game but his good work was spoiled by strikers upfront with some inept finishing. Pedda improved after the restart with captain Royal and Tohid in fine form. Betalbatim keeper Adrian Fernandes made a double save to deny Sidroy and Tohid.
In the dying minutes, Jovel made a goalline save, heading out Meagan Fernandes' goal-bound shot. In the tie-breaker, Pedda Boys scored through Morriston, Tohid, Dolton and Swindon, while Joel, Maybourn and Meagan scored for Betalbatim.
