MARGAO: Shiroda Youth Club advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating St. Anthony's Colva 3-1 in a thrilling encounter of the 32nd Lourdes Festival All-Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament. The tournament is organised by the United Club of Utorda in association with the Sports Authority of Goa and held at Utorda.
The first half was dominated by Shiroda, with Dadapet Patil scoring from a penalty and Vaibhav Naik adding two more goals, giving Shiroda a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime.
After the break, St. Anthony’s Colva’s Riston Gomes reduced the deficit, scoring a consolation goal.
The Man of the Match award was presented by chief guest Remy Barreto to Vaibhav Naik of Shiroda Youth Club.
