St Xavier’s College, Mapusa will face Govt College, Quepem, in the finals of the Inter-collegiate men's football championship 2022-23, organised by Goa University at Rosary College Ground, Navelim. In the first semifinal, Govt College, Quepem defeated Govt College, Khandola in a one-sided match with a score of 4-0. Jovita Dias and Godwin Fernandes scored on each in the first half. In the second half Govt College, Khandola tried hard to fight back, but couldn’t stop Govt College, Quepem to score another two goals through Veltoy Cardoso and Maximo D’Costa to seal the victory. In the second semifinal between Fr Agnel College, Pilar and St Xavier’s College, Mapusa saw a very tough match where both the teams were squared 0-0 at full time. In the penalty shoot-out, St Xavier’s went through to the final with a score of 7-6. The finals will be played on October 26 at Rosary College Ground, Navelim at 11 am.
