A fine brace by Lanico Moraes helped Dicarple Sports Club to thrash Chandor Club 3-1 in the GFA Third Division League at Chandor Church Ground on Wednesday.

Dicarpale Sports Club led 2-0 at the lemon break. Dicarpale Sports Club dominated the game right from the word go and pushed their opponents on the back foot and took the lead in the 20th minute when Lancio Moares slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.

Spurred by the early success, Dicarpale intensified their attacks and in the 25th minute, Kevin Furtado Moraes added his name to the scorers' list. Crossing over, Dicaraple Sports Club continued in the same vein and Lancio Moares struck a second time to register his brace. Flyn D'Costa scored the consolation goal at the stroke of full-time.

Young Strikers move into quarters 
Young Strikers Benaulim defeated Betalbatim SC 3-2 and moved into the quarterfinals of the Gold Silver Rolling Trophy at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Wednesday.

Kenan Fernandes of Benaulim first recorded his name on the scoresheet to open the account in the second minute. Then Nayab Khan of Betalbatim netted two quick goals in the 8th and 15th minutes. In the second half, Benaulim through Nicholas Rodrigues netted a brace in the 48th and 50th minutes. Nicholas Rodrigues of Young Strikers Benaulim was awarded the man of the match award.

On Tuesday, Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna trounced Guardian Angel 4-0 and moved into the quarterfinals. Rossman netted two goals through Andrew John in the 12th and 34th  minutes. Rossman in the second half inflated the lead through Noel Dsilva and Hilton Fernandes in the 48th and 67th minutes respectively. Andrew of Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna was awarded the Man of the Match award. 

OL Rosary win Parish Youth tourney 
Our Lady of Rosary Church Fatorda Youth beat Parish Youth Majorda 2-0 via the tiebreaker in the final of Seraulim Parish Youth football tournament recently. The game was a 0-0 draw even as both teams tried their best to score goals but missed many chances.

Rosary Parish Youth got the better of Majorda Parish Youth by defeating them in the tiebreaker 2-0. Michael Dias and Jordan Borges scored the goals for Rosary Parish Youth Fatorda in the tiebreaker whereas Majorda failed to convert their spot kicks. 32 Parish Youth teams participated in the tournament.

Cumborda SC win inter-ward football title
Cumborda SC beat Virbhat FC 5-4 via the tiebreaker in the final of the SC Virabhat inter-ward football tournament at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.

Joslon Fernandes and Cristo Hilario netted a goal each for Virabhat in the 4th and 11th minutes respectively and for Cumborda, Myrick Hilario and Alivison Fernandes scored in the 29th and 31st minutes respectively. In the tiebreaker, Cumborda SC proved to be better shooters.

Alexio Reginald Lourenco, MLA of Curtorim constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Armando Colaco, football promoter and well-known coach, and other dignitaries and club officials.
