Dempo Sports Club head coach Samir Naik expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance following their 2-0 victory over Shillong Lajong FC in an away match on Saturday.
Speaking to The Goan Everyday after the game, Naik said, “I’m happy with today’s match. We managed to improve on aspects we’ve been working on, especially in terms of controlling possession and moving dynamically to link up with teammates. We also focused on putting pressure on the opponent when necessary and being patient to make the right decisions."
“I’m pleased with the performance of the players, especially those who have been recovering from injuries. They showed great resilience, and we controlled the game from start to finish, which ultimately helped us secure the win," he added.
The coach also highlighted the team's collective effort, saying, “Everyone gave their best, and we are happy to finish with a win and secure second place. This victory boosts our confidence as we head into the next match."
Naik concluded by expressing optimism for the upcoming fixtures, stating, “We will approach the next game with much more confidence.”
