FC Goa and Salcete FC–CDS share spoils

FC Goa and Salcete FC–CDS played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the final round of the Salcete Football Club 45th Anniversary U-14 Tournament at the Sinquetim Sports Complex, Navelim.

FC Goa opened the scoring in the 14th minute through their in-form striker Ludovico Figueiredo. Salcete FC responded strongly, netting twice in quick succession in the 31st and 33rd minutes to take the lead. FC Goa, however, fought back, and Ludovico struck again in the 50th minute to level the scores. With this result, FC Goa topped the group with 7 points, while SFC–CDS finished second with 5 points.

Dwayne D’Cruz of FC Goa was named Man of the Match and received the award from Savio Medeira.

In another match, Dempo Sports Club defeated Sporting Clube de Goa 5-2 in a third-round encounter of the same tournament. The first half ended with both teams tied at 2-2. Dempo’s goals came from Yash, Rubaz (2), Jess and Rozen, while Roshan scored a brace for Sporting Clube de Goa.

Jess Gomes of Dempo SC was awarded the Man of the Match prize by SFC treasurer Sunil Naik.
