Fondegal SC advanced to the next round of the 5th Cumborda Sports Club Football Tournament with a 4-2 win over Cumborda SC via tie-breaker. The match, organized by Cumborda Sports Club, was held at the St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
Fondegal had an early chance to take the lead, but Shannon's powerful strike was brilliantly saved by Cumborda goalkeeper Johnson Bhogot. However, Fondegal eventually broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute through Rion.
In the second half, Cumborda fought back and found the equaliser in the 40th minute, courtesy of Veron Fernandes. The score remained 1-1 at full time, pushing the match into a penalty shootout.
In the tie-breaker, Rion, Melvin, Gavin, and Shannon successfully converted for Fondegal SC, while Rio and Britto scored for Cumborda SC.
Despite the loss, Veron Fernandes of Cumborda SC was named Man of the Match for his standout performance.
