Guardian Angel SC advanced to the semifinals of the St Joseph Festival Football Tournament with a solid 2-0 victory over Sao Jose de Areal, in a match that came to life in the second half.
The deadlock was broken in the 53rd minute when Vitorino Fernandes, Guardian Angel’s prolific striker, found the back of the net with a clinical finish. Just two minutes later, Sheldon Fernandes capitalised on the momentum and added a second, giving Guardian Angel SC full control of the match.
Sao Jose de Areal pushed forward in search of a comeback, but Guardian Angel’s defence stood strong to maintain a clean sheet.
