MARGAO: Hosts Fr. Agnelo Sports and Cultural Club, Paroda, registered a convincing 3–0 win over Margao Sports Club to book a place in the finals of the Fr. Agnelo Inter-Village Football Tournament. The tournament is being organised by the host club and is being played at the Panchayat Grounds, Avedem–Paroda.
Paroda took an early lead in the 2nd minute when Margao goalkeeper failed to gather a deft effort from Stevan Menezes, allowing the ball to slip into the net. The hosts went into the half-time break with a slender one-goal advantage.
Margao pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but Paroda doubled their lead through a powerful strike by Ashvon Fernandes. In the closing minutes, Stevan Menezes struck again to complete his brace and seal a comprehensive 3–0 victory for Paroda.
