GFA announces Goa's Santosh Trophy squad

The Goa Football Association has announced the Goa State team for the 76th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy to be held at Kokrajhar, Assam from December 28 to January 5.

Team: Forwards - Llyod Cardozo, Stendly Fernandes, Vieri Colaco, Clencio Pinto, Midfielders - Trijoy Dias, Vasim Inamdar, Kirtikesh Gadekar, Mahammed Faheez, Domnic Soares, Ganesh Thakur, Ribhav Sardesai, Harsh Patre; Defenders - Liston Cardozo, Nickson Castanha, Clive Miranda, Klusner Pereira, Shallum Pires, Daniel Gomes, Jovel Martin; Goalkeepers - Sanij Bugde, Hansel Coelho, Roanal Gaunkar; Officials - Norberto Gonsalves (head coach), Mario Soares (assistant coach), Sebastiao Antonio Noronha (goalkeeping coach), Ankit Gaunkar (physiotherapist), Omkar Vaigankar (manager).

Goa are placed in six-team Group III with Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Nagaland as the other teams. Goa will play their first match on December 28 and end the group campaign on January 5.

Vorrad 5:55 duathlon on Jan 29
Propedalerz Cycling Club will hold its 3rd annual Duathlon event ‘Vorrad 5:55’, a fun duathlon, on January 29. Dr Vishwajit Faldesai, the club president, stated that registrations will open shortly and that the club is looking forward to playing host to all cycling and running enthusiasts soon. He said the participants will begin from Benaulim beach and first cycle 55km along the coastal roads before coming back to run a 2.5 or 5km beach run. As with the previous editions, which saw 200 plus participants, this one aims to draw a larger number as well as provide the required facilities, from ample parking and security to washrooms, hydration, music and a sumptuous breakfast.

GFA teams managers' meeting today
A managers' meeting for the GFA's Second Division League Salcete Zone clubs will be held on December 23 at 4.30 pm at GFA office, Fatorda. The clubs participating in the tournament need to depute their representative to attend the meeting. They also have to submit documents for the purpose of registration of players. "The clubs who have not paid the entry fees need to do so at the earliest," the GFA said in a press release.
