The Calangute Police seized two private vehicles, including a jeep, rented to tourists in Candolim on Thursday. The police have registered cases against the owners of the vehicles. The tourists were released after an inquiry by the police.
Notably, the action comes after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant directed the police to take strict action against private vehicle owners for renting their four-wheelers and two-wheelers to the tourists.
A report will be sent by the police to the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class for further action against these owners. Police are conducting further investigation under the guidance of Police Inspector Dattaguru Sawant.
