Pax of Nagoa have appointed Mateus Costa as the coach ahead of their Goa Pro League campaign.
The Nagoa team, who have been given direct entry to the Goan top-flight football division through a bidding process by the Goa Football Association, have assembled a competitive squad consisting of experienced players from the state, along with youngsters.
On Friday, a Thanksgiving mass was held at Nagoa Church by the club. Ravi Cabral, president of Pax of Nagoa, announced an MOU with their sponsors. Osvie Cabral and Fr Edson Fernandes, parish priest of Nagoa Church unveiled the team's new jersey.
Costa had previously coached I-League sides Sporting Clube de Goa, Churchill Brothers Sports Club, Dempo Sports Club while also helming Cabral Sports Club and the State Santosh Trophy football team.
Welcoming Costa on board, Ravi Cabral said: “It’s nice to have Costa on board. His vast experience will come in handy for the club. I expect him to guide us to the next level and expect our team to perform well and be in the top-five of the Goa Pro League."
