RC Goa and Desserts N’More Avengers both secured comfortable wins in the ongoing PGML 4.0 at Panjim Gymkhana, moving closer to the playoff spots.
In the first match, Desserts N'More Avengers defeated Baale Tigers by 6 wickets. Baale Tigers, put into bat, were all out for 127, with Rajaram Kundaikar top-scoring with 33 off 16 balls. In response, Desserts N'More Avengers chased down 131/4 in 15.2 overs. Captain Rajshekhar Harikant starred with an all-round performance, scoring 33 not out off 17 balls and taking 2/24. Saandip Dahaad (33) and Vikas Shetty (27) also contributed significantly.
In the second match, RC Goa batted first and scored 148/8. Aryan Mashelkar (36), Ramnath Gaonkar (35), and Swayam Naik (29) were the key contributors. Manas Mavericks, in reply, were restricted to 122/9. Vardhan Haldankar (35), Heramb Parab (18), and Ajinkya Kudtarkar (14) were the main scorers. Aryan Kudtarkar took 2/20 and was named the 'Grant Thornton' Man-of-the-Match.
The day also marked a historic moment as Vidhi Bhandare, the first woman player in PGML history, made her debut for Manas Mavericks. She impressed with the ball, taking a wicket with her first delivery and conceding just 17 runs in 3 overs. She also took a brilliant catch in the field.
With these results, RC Goa and Desserts N'More Avengers sit second and third in the points table, both with 6 points, while Baale Tigers are out of playoff contention with four straight losses. Manas Mavericks have 2 points from four matches.
