All-rounder Harshad Gadekar, middle-order batsman Snehal Kauthankar and wicket-keeper batsman Rahul Keni are back as the selectors make six changes to the Goa Ranji trophy squad for the match against Services to be played in Delhi from November 9-12. Sagun Kamat will continue to lead the Goa Ranji Team.
After losing badly to Punjab in the previous match at Porvorim, Goa are stuck with two points from three matches in Group D and need to bounce back with a much-improved performance. As such, the selectors have decided to give opportunities to three youngsters in Heramb Parab, Vaibhav Govekar and Sriniwas Fadte; while experienced all-rounder Harshad Gadekar (hamstring) and dependable batsman Snehal Kauthankar (shoulder) are back after overcoming their injury problems. Rahul Keni, who was in the pre-season probables camp, has been presented a chance to come back to Ranji cricket after having played his last First-class match two years back.
Meanwhile, experienced left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati has been rested for the next match while five other players to make way for six changes - Saurabh Bandekar, Amit Yadav, Reagan Pinto, Samar Dubashi and Gauresh Gawas - have been dropped.
