ABC, Arambol got the better of Penha de Franca Sports Club 3-1 via tiebreaker to storm into the semi-finals of McDowell's No 1 Yaari Premier Cup inter village football tournament organized by Agassaim Youth Club, at Agassaim ground, on Friday. Both the teams were were locked goalless at the end of regulation period.
As the ground condition was slippery after the frequent showers of rain, the teams adopted a safety-first approach, which made for some dull football. In the penalty shootout, Vithal Kinnelkar, Amit Fernandes and Stepelpon Fernandes were on target for Arambol, while Prakash Mandar converted for Penha de Franca Sports Club.
Dunes Sports Club will meet Football Club of Siolim in the quarter-finals on September22.
