Quepem
Alexie Fernandes of Quepem has successfully achieved yet another milestone in his career by bagging the 6-Dan Black Belt in a recently conducted grading bout at Hyderabad by Okinawan martial arts, World Karate Federation and Indian Olympic
Association.
In the grading exams held at Hyderabad, Alexie impressed everyone with his tactical skills and the Belt along with the certificate was awarded by International Grand Master S Shrinivasan.
Alexie has been teaching martial arts for the last 20 years to children, especially students, so that they can defend themselves when they are in distress. He also feels that all schools must adopt this skill training, especially for the girls.
He has also been named as Goa's chief instructor for martial arts.
Apart from his passion in martial arts, he is involved in politics and had earlier contested assembly elections from Quepem and Lok Sabha elections from South Goa. Presently, he is associated with the Shiv Sena.
