Crozan Society Bastora defeated Sanguem SC Club 3-0 in the State finals to win the Sr Women’s Hockey Championship, organised by Goan Hockey at Seraulim ground.
Guillaume Fernandes put the Bastora team in the lead in the eighth minute of the game. The team was ahead by two goals at the break after Maheshwari Haldenkar scored the second in the 13th minute. In the 52nd minute, Suresh Vernakae made it 3-0 for the Bastora team.
Sanguem SC club made many moves but could not stitch any productive move due to lack of coordination. Paranglia Palyekar was the best player for Sanguem SC but also missed a sitter in the 55th minute.
The chief guest for the prize presentation function was Valanka, PE Teacher, Maria Babina Convent, while Anjulo P Fernandes, Asst. Project Officer - DRDA, was the guest of honour. Also present was Benny, Secretary of Goan Hockey.
