Amaira Dhumatker, Shaheen C.K. and Anjana Kumari emerged double-crown winners at the BPS State Badminton Ranking Tournament at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, organised by BPS Sports Club in aegis with Goa Badminton Association.
National bronze medallist Amaira underlined her credentials, beating Anvitha Poojari 15-5, 15-3 in Girls U11 Singles and partnering Anvitha to defeat Saachi Sinai Kenkre - Yashika Koneru 15-5, 15-2 in Doubles.
Rising doubles talent Shaheen C.K. also secured two titles, partnering Aswin Mannambalath to beat Aryaman Saraf-Rudra Phadte 11-15, 15-6, 15-9 in Men's Doubles, before teaming with Dimple Revankar to overcome Sanath Kamat - Anar Singbal 15-11, 6-15, 15-12 in Mixed Doubles.
Top seed Nishant Shenai claimed the Men's Singles title, defeating Arjun Bhagat 15-12, 16-14.
Anjana completed her double with a hard-fought 15-10, 13-15, 15-10 win over top seed Sufiya Shaikh in Women's Singles, after the duo had earlier combined to win Women's Doubles, defeating Riya Haldankar-Yasmin Sayed 15-13, 12-15, 15-7.
Other U11 winners were Sharv Shenvi, who beat Shloke Utagi 15-6, 15-5, and Mahipal Sinh Parmar-Priyansh Sawant Dessai, who defeated Namish Revankar-Srihaan Dessai 15-3, 15-6 in U11 Boys Doubles. In U9, Rafael De Ataide won the Boys Singles title after overcoming Divyam Singh 12-15, 15-8, 15-11, while Oorvi Khyalia completed a double, beating Samaira Velip 15-6, 15-6 in Girls Singles and partnering Samaira to defeat Meher Aghicha-Ranisa Naik 15-4, 15-2 in Girls Doubles.
