Ambelim Sports Club edged past hosts CRC Chinchinim 3-2 to cruise into the quarter-finals of All Goa 16th Chinchinim- Deussua Village Panchayat Cup football tournament organized by CRC Chinchinim at Church ground, Chinchinim on Sunday. The teams were tied 1-1 at half time.

In an evenly contested match, both the teams showed attacking intent and CRC forged ahead in the 25th minute when John Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. However, their joy was short-lived as five minutes later Jade Colaco neutralised the lead. Crossing over, Samson Simoes regained the lead with a stiff grounder that beat Chinchinim goalkeeper. Edwin D'Costa made most of a defensive error from a rival defender to level the scores in the 48th minute. With the scores tied 2-2, both the teams went all out in seach of the winner. It arrived when Blasco Fernandes scored the fifth goal of the match in the 60th minute.
