Ambelim made a bright start, with Arvind Fernandes opening the scoring in the 10th minute to hand his side an early advantage. Cuncolim Union responded strongly, and Saish Gaonkar restored parity in the 21st minute as the teams went into the break locked at 1-1.
Cuncolim took the lead early in the second half when Saish Gaonkar struck again in the 42nd minute to make it 2-1. Ambelim, however, stepped up the pressure in search of an equaliser, which arrived in the 53rd minute through Joshua Pinto.
The momentum then shifted firmly in Ambelim's favour. Desmond Fernandes put his side ahead with a well-taken goal in the 58th minute before Blasco Fernandes sealed the victory with Ambelim's fourth goal in the 68th minute, completing an impressive 4-2 comeback.
Arvind Fernandes of Ambelim SC was named Player of the Match. The award was presented by former India international and Air India footballer Jacint D'Silva.
